An air compressor is a device that converts mechanical energy into gas pressure energy. Its operation relies on an electric motor directly driving the compressor; the rotation of the crankshaft drives the connecting rod, causing the piston to move in a reciprocating motion. Inside the cylinder, the movement of the piston alters the internal volume, thereby changing the pressure. Air enters the cylinder through the intake valve-passing first through an air filter (or silencer)-and is compressed as the cylinder volume decreases during the compression stroke. The compressed air then exits through the exhaust valve and travels via the exhaust pipe and a one-way valve (check valve) into the air storage tank.
When the discharge pressure reaches a preset level of 0.7 MPa, a pressure switch automatically stops the compressor. When the pressure in the storage tank drops to between 0.5 and 0.6 MPa, the pressure switch automatically restarts the compressor to maintain a stable pressure output.
