The Development History Of Vacuum Pumps

Jul 03, 2026

With the development of vacuum applications, the types of vacuum pumps have diversified, with pumping speeds ranging from a few tenths of a liter per second to hundreds of thousands or even millions of liters per second. As the pressure range requirements for vacuum technology in production and scientific research fields become increasingly wider, it is often necessary to use a vacuum pumping system composed of several vacuum pumps working together to meet the requirements of production and scientific research processes. Because the working pressure range involved in vacuum applications is very wide, no single type of vacuum pump can be completely suitable for all working pressure ranges. Different types of vacuum pumps must be used according to different working pressure ranges and different working requirements. For ease of use and the needs of various vacuum processes, various vacuum pumps are sometimes combined according to their performance requirements and used in unit configurations.

Commonly used vacuum pumps include dry screw vacuum pumps, water ring pumps, reciprocating pumps, slide valve pumps, rotary vane pumps, Roots pumps, and diffusion pumps. These pumps are indispensable main pump types in the application of vacuum processes in various sectors of my country's national economy. In recent years, along with the sustained and rapid development of my country's economy, downstream application industries related to vacuum pumps have maintained a rapid growth momentum. At the same time, driven by factors such as the continuous expansion of vacuum pump application fields, my country's vacuum pump industry has achieved sustained, stable and rapid development.
