Inspection And Maintenance Of Air Compressors

Sep 22, 2026

In the industrial production sector, air compressors play a crucial role. They not only provide power for various mechanical devices, but also directly affect production efficiency and product quality. Therefore, conducting regular inspections and maintenance of air compressors is an important means to ensure their stable operation and extend their service life.

Visual inspection

1. Visual inspection: Before starting the machine every day, check if there are any signs of oil stains, leakage or damage on the exterior of the compressor. Also, observe whether the oil level is within the normal range.

2. Inspection of wiring box and cables: Check if the wiring box and cables of the air compressor are in good condition, without exposed wires or damage. Ensure that the wire connections are stable and reliable.

3. Troubleshooting overheating issues: Check if the heat sinks and radiators of the cooler are clean, without dust accumulation or blockages. If the compressor frequently overheats, check if the cooling system is functioning properly. If necessary, perform cleaning and maintenance operations.

4. Inspection of filters and exhaust pipes: Check the connection status of the filters and exhaust pipes to ensure there is no leakage or blockage. If necessary, replace the filter elements and clean the pipes.

Internal inspection

1. Inspect the oil filter and oil separator: Check the oil filter and oil separator of the screw air compressor to ensure their normal operation. If any damage or expired filter elements are found, replace them promptly.

2. Check the quality and level of lubricating oil: Inspect the quality and level of the lubricating oil to ensure it is clean and sufficient. If necessary, replace the lubricating oil and clean the level gauge.

3. Inspect the compression components: Check the compression components of the screw air compressor, such as the screw shaft and compression chamber, to confirm there are no cracks, wear, or looseness. If necessary, perform maintenance and replacement.

4. Inspect the fan and air duct: Check if the fan and air duct are clean, free of dust and damage. If necessary, clean and repair them.

5. Inspect the motor and control system: Check the operating conditions of the motor and control system, including temperature, current, and voltage parameters. Check the state of the electrical lines, contactors, and protection devices to ensure the safe and stable operation of the electrical system. If any abnormalities are found, repair or replace the equipment promptly.

Maintenance and Record Keeping

1. Lubricating oil replacement: Replace the lubricating oil according to the recommended replacement cycle by the manufacturer. Using the appropriate oil can reduce friction losses and improve equipment efficiency. (For Deumon equipment, use Deumon-specific lubricating oil to avoid irreversible damage to the equipment caused by using inappropriate lubricating oil)

2. Record of operating time: Regularly record the operating time and load conditions of the screw air compressor to compare and evaluate under different load conditions.

3. Fault recording: Accurately record the faults and maintenance of the screw air compressor, including the cause of the fault, maintenance method, and maintenance time. For frequently occurring problems, conduct in-depth analysis and improvement.
